History Meets Modern Berlin

The name Belle Alliance carries the memory of this neighbourhood. Today’s Mehringdamm was once known as Belle-Alliance-Straße, connected to the former Belle-Alliance-Platz — now Mehringplatz — one of Berlin’s historic urban gateways.

For more than a century, this area was shaped by movement, politics, theatre, cinema, everyday city life and the energy of a changing Berlin. The old Belle-Alliance-Straße was not just a road; it was a stage for the city. People passed through, gathered, debated, celebrated and experienced culture here — from theatres and cinemas to cafés, restaurants and public life.

At Belle Alliance, we bring this layered history into the present: modern European cooking, Mediterranean influences, seasonal plates, selected wines and a warm, open atmosphere in the heart of Berlin-Kreuzberg.

We believe the best way to experience a neighbourhood is at the table — through food, wine, conversation and shared moments.

During the day, Belle Alliance is known for generous breakfast, brunch and lunch — from fluffy pancakes, Eggs Benedict and avocado toast to shakshuka, hummus, fresh salads and seasonal specials.

In the evening, the atmosphere changes: our kitchen moves into a Mediterranean-inspired sharing concept with small plates, seasonal vegetables, fresh herbs, good olive oil, grilled dishes, fish, meat and warm sourdough with changing butters.

Our dinner menu is made for the table — dishes to share, wines to discover and time to enjoy the neighbourhood. Belle Alliance is a neighbourhood place from morning to evening a café for good coffee, breakfast and lunch during the day, and a relaxed dinner spot with wine, drinks and Mediterranean-inspired sharing plates at night.

In the evening, our focus moves to selected wines from France, Italy, Portugal, and Germany, chosen to pair with seasonal plates, grilled vegetables, fresh herbs, good olive oil, fish, meat, and warm sourdough with changing butters.

Our terrace brings the feeling of Kreuzberg outside: open, lively, and easy-going. Come by for a coffee, stay for lunch, return for a glass of wine — and enjoy the neighbourhood from your table.
